Philip Anton, Associate Professor and Program Director for Exercise Science

Dr. Anton is an Associate Professor of Exercise Science and is Undergraduate Exercise Science Program Director. His primary focus of training and study is in the sub disciplinary area of exercise physiology and he serves as the Director of the SIUC Cancer Rehabilitation Laboratory and the Exercise Program Director for the 
Strong Survivors Exercise and Nutrition Program for Cancer Survivors and Caregivers

Daniel Becque, Associate Professor

Dr. Becque is an Associate Professor in the Department of Kinesiology specializing in exercise physiology and human biology. Dr. Becque is also the faculty advisor for the Fitness Club, a registered student organization and sport club promoting fitness and exercise.

Tony Calabrese, Lecturer

Kinesiology, Sport Administration

Tony Calabrese has been associated with SIU since 1960 as a student, athlete, and graduate assistant.  He attended SIU from 1960-1966 where he received his BS in Physical Education, and was a member of the SIU Men’s Gymnastics Team that won an NCAA National Championship, and compiled a record of 67 wins and no losses.

Kim Gray, Instructor

Kim is an Instructor for the department. Her teaching duties at the undergraduate level include coursework required for exercise science, sport administration, and physical education teacher education undergraduate majors and include Essentials of Athletic Injury Management (KIN 324), Musculoskeletal Anatomy (KIN 300), and Exercise and Nutrition (KIN 381).

Brenda Green, M.S., R.D., L.D.N., C.L.C., Associate Lecturer

Brenda Green graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science degree in dietetics. In 2000, she graduated from Southern Illinois University with a Master of Science degree in Community Nutrition. Brenda worked close to 15 years with the Illinois Department of Human Services as a Regional Nutritionist Consultant with the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC Program). Brenda is now the Director of the Dietetic Internship Program at SIU where she brings her love of the community to the classroom.

Bobbi Knapp, Associate Professor

Dawn Null, Ph.D., R.D.N., Associate Professor

Dr. Null is a Registered Dietitian and Health Educator with over 25 years of experience working in the field and in college health. Her eclectic background includes food distribution and menu and recipe development; health promotion program development, implementation, and evaluation; and directing and maintaining an accredited dietetics program. Dr. Null’s primary research areas include food insecurity, environmental nutrition, and brown-water mariner health. Dr. Null is the Continuing Education Advisor for Registered Dietitians and Nutritionists for the American College Health Association.

Dr. Wallace is an Associate Professor of Exercise Science and the Chair of the Department of Kinesiology. Her primary focus of training and study is in the area of cardiovascular exercise physiology. Taeho Yoh, Professor and Director of Sport Administration

Taeho Yoh holds two Ph.Ds, one in Marketing from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and another in Sport Management from Florida State University. He is cross-appointed in the College of Health and Human Sciences the College of Business and Analytics. His research primarily focuses on the following areas: Corporate Social Responsibility, Sport Marketing and Social Impact of Sport Organizations, and Marketing and Promotions for Non-profit Sectors.
