Karen Midden

Karen Midden, Professor Emerita

Horticulture

Karen Midden is an emeritus faculty member in the Horticulture program, as well as a registered landscape architect.

 

She earned a terminal master's degree in landscape architecture from the University of Georgia and earned a master's of science degree from SIU, where she began teaching in 1985. Her research included sustainable landscape practices, gardening with children, urban agriculture, and international agriculture practices and education.

Professor Midden served as Associate Dean and Interim Dean prior to her retirement in 2019.
