Horticulture

Amy Boren has been sharing her expertise by teaching horticulture classes at SIU since 1991. Her previous experience included curriculum development in horticulture and conducting a horticulture program at a high school vocational center for 3 ½ years.

Special Interest:

  • Coordinating landscape projects designed and installed by horticulture classes
  • Promoting agricultural literacy with K – 12th grade teachers through Summer Agriculture Institutes. Participating teachers earn graduate credit or professional development credits.
  • Replacing existing COA greenhouse with up-to-date facilities needed to prepare students for jobs in industry
