Julie Hibdon, Associate Professor, Graduate Program Director
Criminology and Criminal Justice
Dr. Hibdon joined the SIU faculty in the Fall of 2012 after serving as a Research Associate in the Center for Evidence-Based Crime Policy at George Mason University. She completed her Ph.D. in Criminology, Law, and Society at George Mason University in 2011 and currently serves as the Graduate Program Director for Criminology and Criminal Justice.
Dr. Hibdon’s primary research interests include crime and place, crime prevention, victimization and policing. Dr. Hibdon has over ten years of experience in applied research and program evaluation. Her current research is largely focused on evaluating community crime prevention efforts and explaining geographic concentrations of crime.
