D. John McIntyre, Ed.D. (Syracuse University) is a Professor Emeritus and Senior Visiting Professor for Curriculum Studies.
His research interests are in teacher education, including school-university partnerships and teacher development. Current projects include (QCS) a longitudinal study of pre-service teachers’ constructions of becoming teachers; the perceptions of teachers of the impact of working in a school – university partnership; a survey of university’s field experience programs, etc.
Dr. McIntyre is a Past President of the Association of Teacher Educators and has received that organization’s Distinguished Research Award, Distinguished Teacher Educator Award as well as being honored as a Distinguished Member. He also served on the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education’s Board of Examiner’s for nine years and still serves on review teams for the Illinois State Board of Education.
Dr. McIntyre has made nearly 200 presentations at state, regional and national professional conferences as well as having over 75 publications in journals and books. Most recently, he was co-editor of the 3rd edition of the Handbook of Research in Teacher Education.
