Computer Requirements

Minimum Laptop Specs:

  • Windows 10 Home
  • Any Intel Processor (Core i3, i5 or i7, Xeon, Pentium) or AMD Processor with SSE2 technology.
  • Single Core or Multi-Core
  • 8 GB Memory
  • 5 GB of free Hard Drive space (required for Windows to work)
  • 1280 x 1024 Resolution
  • PC Computer Only

Recommended Software:

  • Office 365 for students - this is free for all SIU students. It is downloadable from login.microsoftonline.com when they log in using SIU credentials.
  • Adobe Creative Cloud - Full-time students can access Creative Cloud for Education at no cost or discounted rates through SIU’s OIT department.
