Ron Parks, Instructor
Mr. Ron Parks joined Southern Illinois University in 1996 as an instructor in Industrial Management Applied Engineering. He currently teaches IMAE 110, IMAE 340, IMAE 375, IMAE 376, IMAE 392, IMAE 445, IMAE 465, and IMAE 476. Mr. Parks currently holds a senior level certification in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing through ASME.Received a BS in Industrial Technology from Southern Illinois University (SIUC) in 1989, followed by a MS in Workforce Education in 1995. Completed approximately 30 credit hours beyond the master’s degree.
Mr. Parks worked as a product design engineer for a manufacturing company that produced industrial marking equipment. He designed many new products, one of which received a National Gold Award and was granted a patient for this product. Prior to joining SIUC, Mr. Parks was an instructor in Computer Aided Design at John A. Logan college and became a full professor seven years later. Other classes taught include robotics, computer integrated manufacturing, technical math, and programmable logic controllers. He received an outstanding faculty member award for education. In addition to his regular duties, Mr. Parks trained local companies in blueprint reading, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, AutoCAD, Solid works, statistical process control, and gage lab.
