Ahmad Abuelrub, Assistant Professor
"Ahmad M. AbuElrub received his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology in 2010 and his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University, College Station, USA, in 2016.
He worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) from March 2017 to March 2022 and was promoted to Associate Professor in March 2022. He also served as Assistant Dean for the Faculty of Engineering from September 2021 to September 2022.
In August 2025, he joined the School of Applied Engineering and Technology at Southern Illinois University Carbondale as an Assistant Professor in Electrical Engineering Technology.
His research interests include renewable energy systems, hybrid energy optimization, power system reliability, and electric vehicle integration. His work focuses on developing sustainable and cost-effective energy solutions using advanced optimization and intelligent algorithms.
His teaching interests are in courses related to electrical machines, power system analysis and protection, renewable energy systems, and control systems."
