Xiaoxin Wang Beardsley, Finance Program Coordinator, Director of M.B.A. Programs and Hamilton Family Faculty Fellow in Finance, joined SIU in 2003. She has taught Investments, Financial Markets and Institutions, Portfolio Theory and Management, International Finance, and Financial Management.

Tim Marlo, Clinical Associate Professor

Dr. Tim Marlo is a four degree, summa cum laude graduate of Southern Illinois University. Marlo received bachelor degrees in accounting and finance in 2001, a master in business administration degree in 2009, and a doctorate in business administration, specializing in finance, in 2016. Since 2016, Marlo has served as clinical associate professor for the SIU College of Business.

T. Tyson (Ty) Perry, Clinical Assistant Professor

Timothy Tyson (Ty) Perry was born in Missouri and grew up in Texas, Mississippi, and North Carolina. His background is heavily influenced by studies in finance, and he has a genuine passion for discovery and knowledge creation in finance. He holds a B.S. in finance from Appalachian State University, M.B.A. in finance from East Tennessee State University, Ph.D. in finance (with minor in statistics) from Texas Tech University, and is a CFA® charterholder.

Mark Peterson, Professor of Finance

Professor Mark Peterson joined the SIU faculty in 1997. He received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nebraska, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University, and a Ph.D. in Business (Finance) from Pennsylvania State University. From 1996 to 1999, Peterson was a visiting economist/consultant at the Office of Economic Analysis, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Ted Pilger, Senior Lecturer

Dr. Pilger is a lecturer in the School of Analytics, Finance and Economics. He has been with the College since 1992. In 1994, he received his Ph.D. from SIU. He earned his BS from the University of Illinois, and his MBA from Western Illinois University. Dr. Pilger's research focuses on the approval of golden parachutes and poison pills amendments with regard to board composition. He has published in the Financial Review and Corporate Ownership and Control journals.

Danni Tu, Assistant Professor

Danni Tu is an assistant professor of Finance at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. She received a Ph.D. in Finance from Iowa State University. Her primary research interests are in empirical corporate finance with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, behavioral finance, and financial analysts. She has published in Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, and her research has been covered in the FinReg Blog, Global Financial Markets Center at Duke University School of Law.
