Our faculty are a unique blend of researchers, educators and professionals who are proven experts in their fields. 

Siwon Cho, Associate Professor

Siwon Cho, Ph.D., received her bachelor's degree in clothing and textiles from Southern Illinois University; her master's degree in clothing and textiles from Virginia Tech; and her doctoral degree in apparel business and economics analysis from Virginia Tech. She joined SIU in 2009.

Judy Huyck, Lecturer

When Judy Huyck isn't instructing students in pattern and production methods, she is managing her two companies: Pattern Works International, providing pattern design and grading services for independent designers; and Judith Ann Designs, creating upscale designs using natural and sustainable fabrics. Ms. Huyck was also awarded the Term Teacher of the Year title in 2015-2016 from the SIU School of Architecture, and has been featured multiple times in Threads magainze, including honors for their 2018 Audience's Choice award.

Laura Kidd, Program Director, Associate Professor

In addition to teaching and research, Dr. Laura Kidd oversees many of the student fashion events at SIU, including the annual senior portfolio show. Dr. Kidd's published works focus heavily on global sociology  through the lens of fashion, from historic patriotic expression to women's health issues, such as menstrual garments and technology.

Seung-Hee Lee, Judge William Holmes Cook Professor

Seung-Hee Lee is a Professor in Fashion Studies program. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Ewha Womans University (Seoul, Korea), and her Master and Ph.D. degree from The Ohio State University. As an internationally-recognized scholar in fashion merchandising, Dr. Lee has been extremely prolific--over 190 referred research presentations at national and international conferences, more than 130 articles in prestigious academic journals, 4 book translations (from English to Korean), and 1 Korean book (Socio-Psychology of Clothing).

Bobette Stott, Instructor

Bobette Stott is a Los Angeles based design director, merchandiser, and practicing artist. With over 20 years professional industry experience, Stott specializes in lifestyle product categories, including athleisure, sportswear, dresses, and full fashion knits. Her collections have sold throughout Europe, Canada and Japan, and in the USA, at department stores such as Neiman Marcus, Boomingdale’s, Dillard’s, Nordstorm and Macy’s. Additional experience includes category development in denim, eveningwear, lingerie and accessories, as well as creating private label products for volume retailers such as Kohl’s, TJX and Walmart.
