Background:

Sam Perry is an Illinois and Indiana licensed funeral director, with experience at funeral homes and crematories in both states. Before his work in the mortuary science department at SIU, he worked with the SIU School of Medicine as their Anatomy Curator. In this position he gained experience as a liaison for funeral homes, the public, and SIU concerning full body donation for medical education. Sam is also a long-time member of the Green Burial Council for which he has volunteered in various capacities since 2010. Most recently, he became the President of the Green Burial Council International, 501 C3, helping with outreach and education for the funeral industry and public concerning green funeral services. Sam is also the faculty advisor for the mortuary science coed business fraternity- Sigma Phi Sigma; Alpha Chapter
