Kathryn (Kitty) Martin, Senior Lecturer

Communication Disorders and Sciences

Kitty Martin is an instructor and clinical supervisor for Communication Disorders and Sciences. She has mentored CDS students in the McNair program, facilitated student tutoring for CDS student athletes, and served as chair for the undergraduate CDS curriculum review.

She has practiced as a speech language pathologist in the following settings: public and private schools, hospitals and skilled rehabilitation facilities, private practice, home health & early intervention, as well as assisted living and nursing homes. She has taught in higher education in Missouri, Iowa and Illinois. Disciplines taught include education, communication disorders and sciences, and speech communication. She currently teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in Communication disorders and Sciences as well as supervises clinical experience for graduate students. Ms. Martin is currently ABD in pursuit of her doctorate degree in the Rehabilitation Institute. Ms. Martin is a member of American-Language-Hearing Association, Illinois Speech-language Hearing Association and National Rehabilitation Association. She is certified and licensed as a speech language pathologist and certified in secondary education. Ms. Martin was awarded Term Faculty Teacher of the year on two occasions.
