Md Zahidul Islam | Engineering | SIU

Dr. Islam obtained his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from New York University in 2025. Prior to that, he received hisB.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka, Bangladesh, in 2017 and 2021, respectively.

His research centers on modern power and energy systems, with an emphasis on situational awareness, cyber-physical modeling and resilience, and machine learning applications. By adopting an interdisciplinary approach that combines mathematical optimization, graph theory, and artificial intelligence with power and communication network engineering, He is passionate about developing innovative methodologies to address critical challenges and prepare the grid for future generations.
