Industry Experience

Michael retired from Ameren Illinois in 2024 as Director of Business Development, after 33+ years in the power industry. During his career he held various engineering, operations, strategy, and leadership positions. These included leadership roles in field engineering and operations, industrial customer relations, business process re-engineering and implementation, and innovation and smart grid.

Education

Michael has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (1989) and a Masters of Science in Electric Engineering (1990) from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, and a Masters in Business Administration from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville (1994). He is also a registered professional engineer in the state of Illinois.

Current Focus

Michael teaches four power systems related courses:

• ECE 385 – Electromechanical Energy Conversion & Power Systems
• ECE 486 / 586A – Clean Electric Energy
• ECE 487 / 587A – Power Systems Analysis
• ECE 489 / 589 – Electric Power Distribution

Michael is not supporting research.
