Elementary Education

Mrs. Garrett holds a master’s degree from SIUC (1975) in Education; Eastern Illinois University (2003) in School Counseling; and SIUE (2008) Post Baccalaureate Certificate in English Language Learning.

Having taught full-time in Illinois public schools for over 35 years, she is certified in Elementary, Special Education (all areas), Secondary English, Library, School Administration, and School Counseling. She is a National Board Certified Teacher (retired) and holds and Illinois Master Teaching Certificate. In 2009, she was a Piasa Bluffs National Writing Project Fellow at SIUE.

Mrs. Garrett has over 40 years experience teaching kindergarten through university graduate courses.
