David Anthony, Professor and Director, School of Literature, Writing, and Digital Humanities

David Anthony is Professor of Early American Literature, and Director of the School of Literature, Writing, and Digital Humanities. His book Sensationalism and the Jew in Antebellum American Literature is due out with Oxford University Press in 2023.

Anthony is also the author of Paper Money Men: Commerce, Manhood, and the Sensational Public Sphere in Antebellum America (Ohio State UP, 2009), and various articles in venues such as ALH (2014), American Literature (2019, 2004, 1998), Early American Literature (2005), The Yale Journal of Criticism (1999), and elsewhere. Anthony has also published a novel, entitled Something for Nothing (Algonquin Books, 2011).
