Accelerated Master's Program

The Accelerated Master’s Program is designed for high-achieving students currently enrolled in an undergraduate program within the School. This innovative option allows qualified students to seamlessly transition from undergraduate studies to graduate-level coursework, reducing the time required to earn both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree, completing both in approximately five years by earning a total of 147 credit hours.

To be admitted into the program, students should apply as early as the beginning of the first semester of their junior year. Working with the undergraduate Academic Advisor (and a potential graduate faculty advisor, if needed), students will develop a program of study identifying up to 9 credit hours that may be counted toward both the bachelor’s degree and the Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering degree.

Students are considered undergraduates until all requirements for the bachelor’s degree have been fulfilled. Upon completion, they transition directly into the M.S. program, continuing advanced coursework and research that builds on their undergraduate foundation and prepares them for innovative careers or doctoral studies in electrical and computer engineering.

Assistantships

There are various opportunities for graduate assistantships on campus, including roles in academic programs, research centers, and administrative/service units. These positions not only enhance your experience but also offer a helpful way to cover tuition expenses.
