Master's Degree Programs
If you are looking to contutine your education with an advanced dgree in civil engineering. We offer two graduate-level programs: 1) Master of Science in Civil Engineering and 2) Master of Engineering degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering.
The graduate programs are designed to provide advanced courses and research opportunities in the areas of structural engineering, environmental engineering, geotechnical engineering, and water resources engineering.
Degree Requirements
While both Master of Science (MS) and Master of Engineering (ME) degrees in Civil Engineering programs require a bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and prepare students for successful careers, they differ in key aspects.
The MS program involves research culminating in a Master's Thesis defense.
The ME program is non-thesis, focusing on advanced technical knowledge in structural, environmental, geotechnical, and water resources engineering through coursework.
Both programs open doors to global employment opportunities, catering to diverse academic and professional goals.
Check out the Graduate Catalog, for further program requirements as well as a list of all courses offered within the program
Facilities
Our programs are supported by cutting-edge research projects conducted by nationally and internationally recognized engineering faculty members. The college has well-equipped laboratories and computer facilities that are housed in a modern Engineering Complex. In mid-1997, a new 70,000-square-foot facility was dedicated.
Graduate Assistantships
Students in our graduate program receive preference to our assistantships based on performance. To secure assistantships beyond the first semester, students must select a thesis or dissertation advisor and complete a tentative Program of Study. Note that non-thesis students are not eligible for assistantships. Our Graduate Program Committee prioritizes and advises the Director on appointments, ensuring you receive the support you need to succeed. Explore teaching assistantship opportunities and enhance your graduate experience
Careers
Choose your path to advance your expertise in engineering. It's ideal for individuals aspiring to excel in research, teaching, or advanced technical roles within civil and environmental engineering. This program equips you with the expertise needed for a successful professional career in these fields.
