Facilities

To help supplement students in their academic endeavors, our school facilities include teaching studios, a model shop, a resource library with sample room, as well as a full range of profession-related applications, which help students develop critical and necessary digital application skills.

Studios

graduate studiosDedicated studios located in Quigley Hall are provided for all sophomores, juniors and seniors in the School of Architecture. Students are issued 24-hour building passes and a studio key. The room is organized in a large open space which encourage student interaction and provide informal jury presentation space. All studios are equipped with Wireless Internet.

Resource Library

resource libraryThe program’s resource library/exhibition area is located in Quigley Hall. The resource library supplements Morris Library, the main campus library. It contains a collection of reference books, manufacturers’ catalogs, magazines, and material samples. It also contains computer stations that provide access to the Internet, inter-library searches and design-related data warehouses. The exhibition area displays current student work.

Computer Graphics Lab

cg-lab-300.pngThe program’s computer graphics lab is a modern well-equipped facility that provides access to an array of peripheral equipment that includes printers, scanners, and plotters. Our software subscription provides access to the latest releases of a full range of profession-related software applications. The lab aids in the development of digital designs utilizing 2D and 3D CAD software and serves as a lecture and lab space for all three programs under the School of Architecture.

Model and Furniture Shop

Model and Furniture shopThe program’s model and furniture shop is located in the basement of Quigley Hall. This facility is equipped with a wide variety of power and hand tools.



 

Digital Fabrication Lab (DFL)

wood-tech.jpgThe Digital Fabrication Lab operates as an entity to support research and development, teaching and service activities. It is located in the basement of Quigley Hall. The DFL houses five pieces of equipment used in the digital fabrication process: two laser cutters, two 3d printers, and a cnc (computer numerical control) machine. View lab details, announcements, and more. The Digital Fabrication Lab is closed during the summer session.

Gallery

The galleryThe Gallery is located in room 119 at Quigley Hall. This state-of-the-art space serves as the primary location for students to display their work. In addition to serving as a display space, the gallery is also the location of the School of Architecture’s Lecture Series.
