Sayed Chhattan Shah is currently a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the School of Computing at Southern Illinois University and Director of the Mobile Distributed Computing Lab. His research focuses on advancing next-generation AI-enabled mobile distributed systems and transforming healthcare through innovative applications of artificial intelligence and IoT technologies. He has over 12 years of experience in teaching, research, and academic leadership across institutions in South Korea, the United Kingdom, and Pakistan. Before joining SIU in 2025, he was a Senior Lecturer at Birmingham City University, and prior to that, he spent a decade at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in South Korea, serving as both Assistant Professor and Associate Professor. He has also held faculty appointments at Korea University, Seoul National University of Science and Technology, and Hamdard University. Dr. Shah earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Korea University in 2012. He has published over 60 peer-reviewed papers, secured multiple funded projects, and reviews grant proposals for several national funding bodies, including the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council in the United Kingdom, the National Research Foundation of Korea, and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada.
