Minors

Students are encouraged to seek an education that is tailored to their interests and aspirations. Whether you are an aviation major or not, these aviation specific minors allow you to gain a greater understanding of specific fields within aviation management and increase your versatility and marketability upon graduation.

In addition, they introduce students to the knowledge and expertise they have each achieved from pursuing and completing advanced degrees and publishing research in aviation fields.

Air Traffic Control Minor

The air traffic control minor is designed to prepare students who wish to enter the air traffic control (ATC) field. Our Aviation Management instructors have decades of aviation industry experience that they bring to their classrooms. Our faculty's experiences in both the civilian and military sides of the ATC field allow them to provide experiential knowledge to students. The radar and tower simulators that are part of the Transportation Education Center (TEC) will recreate the feeling of being in an actual control tower, giving students a practical training environment.

Airport Management and Planning Minor

The airport management and planning minor prepares students for the airport-related segment of the aviation industry. Our Aviation Management instructors have decades of aviation industry experience that they bring to their classrooms. Our faculty's experiences in the industry allow them to provide practical wisdom and advice to students. In addition, they introduce to their students the knowledge and expertise they have each achieved from pursuing and completing advanced degrees and from publishing research in aviation fields.

Aircraft Product Support Minor

The minor in Aircraft Product Support is a multi-disciplinary minor sponsored by Aviation Management and Flight and Aviation Technologies. The minor provides additional preparation for students who wish to enter the field of aircraft product support with aerospace manufacturers, suppliers, airlines, the military, and related aviation/aerospace industry segments.
