Gennie Neuman Lambert, Assistant Professor, Scenic Design

Gennie Neuman Lambert is a set designer that works in both professional and academic organizations. She often designs for new plays and musically driven performances, including the world premiere of Repairing A Nation by Nicole Salter at Crossroads Theatre Company, filmed by PBS's Theater Close Up's series, and The Rape of Lucretia at the Krannert Center for Performing Arts conducted by Julie Jordan Gunn, directed by Kirsten Pullen.

She is an interdisciplinary designer that believes that collaboration through storytelling can create empathy and greater understanding. As a set design instructor and mentor, Gennie Neuman Lambert focuses on creative and technical skills that help students develop interactive environments that support live performance through storytelling. In classwork, she focuses on establishing strong aesthetic and literary sensibilities that blend disciplines like painting, model making, rendering, and drafting. These communication skills help students become strong storytellers and collaborators.
